Vietnam is more than 1,600 km from north to south, so "the best time to visit" depends on where you go.
The north
Hanoi, Hạ Long Bay and the mountains have a cool, dry winter and a hot, wet summer. Spring and autumn are the easiest months.
The centre
Huế and Hội An are dry and hot from about February to August. The heaviest rain usually falls from October to December.
The south
Saigon and the Mekong Delta are warm all year, with a dry season from about December to April.
